Alison Cummings - The Redundancy Lady
​Once upon a time in a land far, far away.....
Sorry, got carried away there. During the pandemic, at age 49, I was suddenly made redundant from the bookkeeping position where I trained and worked for 15 years. I was devastated, totally shocked and had no idea what I was going to do. Despite all this, I pulled myself together, got funding to study for an AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting (I passed, yay!) and started my own bookkeeping business. Although starting a business at 49 had not been part of my plan, I discovered a freedom and satisfaction I hadn’t previously known during my years of employment.

I live in the countryside with my husband and my cat. My main passions are music, art and landscape photography. I used to play guitar (need to get back to that) and go to as many concerts as I possibly can. I practice meditation sporadically and Pilates regularly, and I love grabbing my camera and going for walks in the countryside.
My Mission
It's my mission to use my own experiences to help others along their redundancy journey, and hopefully to turn it into something positive!

I wish I had someone to chat to/get ideas from/offload to/get inspiration from, when I lost my job.

I got there in the end, but it was hard work and there was a lot of floundering... I want to help you get there much faster with less of a struggle.
